The Employment Law Chronicle provides a general overview of developments in the field of employment law between 1 January 2017 and the first two months of 2018.
Over the past year, significant case law has emerged on the application of the Work and Security Act (Wet werk en zekerheid). At the time of our previous Chronicle, this primarily concerned rulings from sub-district courts. Since then, there have been a number of rulings from courts of appeal, and a few from the Supreme Court. This Chronicle therefore deals to a large extent with the Work and Security Act. We will also discuss a number of other interesting judgements from 2017 and the first two months of 2018 on the issues of pre-pack, the prohibition on religious and philosophical expressions in the workplace, and employers’ liability.
